But they don’t force you there, you can simply create tons and tons of patches right from the front panel, that I love. Sure, Absynth has all the deep menus there for you sound scientists that like to go deep. I don’t want to have to go through tons of menus just to make changes. That’s a plus, I HATE synths that don’t make it easy to create sounds. It’s ready to go out of the box with the amazing collection of presets, but they make it super easy to sculpt your own sounds.
ABSYNTH 5 IN ABELTON SOFTWARE
I haven’t come across a synth that sounds like absynth, harware or software wise. Like I said, I review tons of products, tons of instruments, but I’m always looking for those that offer something unique. This is a really amazing and inspiring synth If you just want to mutate one oscillator, go for it, only want to mutate the oscillators but keep the fx? Go for it! New sounds pop out like eggo waffles in the toaster.Īnd you can get as custom as you want. You can take a preset, adjust the mutation/random amount, and hit the button! This is the easiest sound design tool I’ve seen, EVER. With over 1700 sounds, I’m sure you’ll find something you love…but the great thing about Absynth 5, and probably the main reason I wanted to check it out… That make it easy to find exactly what you want. There are, according to the website, 1800 sound in this beast!ĭon’t worry, they are “Koresounds” so the browser is based on style, type, and characteristics just like Kore 2. And you can get anything from a sexy silk pad, to a harsh fm lead, to even flutes and guitars…yes…all with that Absynth layer of goodness I’ve grown to love. FM, subtractive, wave-table, granular, sampling, and sample morphing…not to mention all the filters and modulation in there.īottom line is, Absynth has a HUGE collection of sounds. There is a synthesis gumbo in the engine of Absynth. That’s not to say you can’t get some aggressive and harsh sounds out of it, but for me…it’s uniqueness is in the smooth, evolving, “floating” textures you can create. There is something about the “texture” of the sounds that come out of it…they seem to sorta…float. There are quite a few synths out here available for use, but I am always on the lookout for something that provides a unique angle.Ībsynth has a sound that I can’t quite get from anything else I’ve tried. Since it’s my civic duty to provide the musician community with the best info and personal opinion, I spend hours upon hours reviewing and testing various products. What’s more ABSYNTH 5 is not just a synthesizer, but a powerful effect plug-in for treating audio tracks using the unique ABSYNTH 5 effects bank.Īccording to me it’s a monster synthesizer capable of making plenty other-wordly sounds very easily. Its speciality is a limitless spectrum of unusual, evolving sounds created using the powerful, hybrid synthesis architecture and sophisticated modulation and effect system – resulting in sounds far removed from the everyday. Today I’m going to be checking out Absynth 5, one of their newly updated synths that dropped in October, they sent it over for review shortly after it released.ĪBSYNTH 5 is an exceptional synthesizer with unique sonic potential. I've sent an email to the webmaster). It’s time once again to spend a little bit of quality time with our friends at native instruments.

It is very important to make the Absynth plugin control to work.

The only way I can make the Absynth plugin to sound is by playing its on-screen keyboard with the computer's mouse. As mentioned, there is Midi control signal coming in, but the Absynth plugin is ignoring it. I have all Midi inputs and channels open in Live. Same thing, there is Midi input signal coming in, but it can't control Absynth 5 plugin.Ībsynth 5 standalone works fine, both with the guitar as controller and the Macbook keyboard. Not only that, also the Macbook's keyboard does not work either. The tiny midi input level from Live is showing there is Midi control signal coming in. It does not work, there is no audio coming out. I am controlling it with a guitar synthesizer. I have Absynth 5 installed as AU plugin in a Midi track of Ableton Live 8.
